When it comes to protecting highly sensitive media such as optical fibres or laser cables, every millimeter is crucial. Our SPR-VA end position metal conduit has been specially developed for applications where minimum tolerances, maximum precision and mechanical resilience are required. Mechanical control plays a decisive role in such applications in particular - this is where the so-called end position comes into play.

 

The end position is a key parameter in the selection and design of metal protective conduits. It describes how much a metal conduit may change in length under tensile load - in relation to a defined test length of 1 meter.

 

Why is this important?

Metal conduits are often used to protect sensitive media such as fiber optic cables, glass fibers or control cables. Mechanical forces, vibrations or thermal expansion often occur during installation or operation. The end position helps to ensure that the medium to be protected is not stressed beyond its load limits.

Under a load of 25 N, the metal conduit extends by a maximum of 30 mm at a length of 1 m.

With the SPR-VA metal conduit (end position), FLEXA offers a specially developed metal conduit for applications with the highest demands on mechanical precision and installation space optimization. The protective conduit is made of high-quality stainless steel V2A (1.4301) and has a tightly wound, round S-profile that enables maximum flexibility combined with high axial stability - without an outer sheath.

Available from 1.8 x 2.9 mm, the SPR-VA is ideal for use in confined installation situations and wherever minimum outside diameters are required. Thanks to its defined end position, expansion remains precisely calculable even under tensile load. This reliably protects fiber optic cables, laser systems or sensitive sensors from mechanical overload.

With a temperature range of -200 °C to +600 °C, high corrosion resistance and the ability to remain dimensionally stable even under dynamic loads, SPR-VA is the ideal protective conduit for optical systems, automation technology, medical technology, robotics and special machine construction.     SPR-VA Basic hose

    The SPR-VA is a particularly fine, highly flexible metal conduit made of spiral-wound stainless steel with an S-profile - ideal for the smallest dimensions and maximum precision. With outer diameters from 2.3 mm, it is perfect for confined installation spaces. Tensile strength, pressure-resistant, with minimal elongation - for sensitive applications in the tightest of spaces.

    The flexible SPR-VA metal conduit can be fitted with various liquid-tight protective sheaths made of PVC, polyamide, polyurethane or TPEE. The sheathing provides reliable protection against moisture and dirt, is easy to clean and is ideal for hygienically or chemically demanding applications.

    For increased mechanical requirements, the SPR-VA can be braided with a stable wire mesh - optionally made of copper wire, stainless steel wire or galvanized steel wire. The braiding offers increased tensile strength, EMC protection and high lateral pressure resistance - ideal for dynamic applications with maximum mechanical safety.
